Annette & Frank November 2024 (guest book)

What a wonderful cottage, so well quipped and you have thought of everything to the smallest detail.  Thank you so much for all the goodies - very much appreciated, we will definitely be back.

Gill & Charlie November 2024 (guest book) - 2nd visit

Second visit and as wonderful as ever.  So warn and welcoming with all needs catered for.  Thank you Charlie & Carl - see you next year.  PS a little beg steamer pan would be nice but not a deal breaker - thank you Gil for the suggestion and I'm so pleased you enjoyed your return visit.  There is a microwave steamer bowl in one of the drawers but we will happily pick up a steamer appliance for the new year.

Sue, Gary & Rogue November 2024 (guest book)

We have had an absolutely fantastic week. Beautiful scenery, visited gorgeous places and Rogue has enjoyed all of his walks.  Thank you so much for the goodies left for us and such a well equipped cottage with everything we could ever want.  Thanks, will definitely recommend you.

Deborah, Chris & Purdey October 2024 (guest book)

We have had the most relaxing and peaceful break at The Lodge.  You gave us a most wonderful package of local foods, thank you.  We have enjoyed the walks, beaches and local amenities all on our doorstep.

Kim, Paul & Nola - October 2024 (guest book)

Thank you for letting us stay in The Lodge, we have had a lovely three days.  You seem to have thought of everything we might need.

Stephen, Reece & Coby - October 2024 (guest book)

We have had an amazing time at The Lodge.  Charlotte and Carl have thought of everything!  The accommodation is lovely and cosy and the welcome pack package was such an added bonus.  This was our recuse dogs first ever holiday and he had the time of his life exploring the fields.  We are so sad to be leaving and we will definitely be back.  Thanks for everything.

Marylynn, Jeremy & Riley - October 2024 (guest book)

My previous visits to this part of Wales have always been to stay in my parent's home in Abergele, so it was certainly a different experience to stay elsewhere.  it didn't disappoint!  I've revisited places I'd almost forgotten about and I shall certainly recommend to friends and family.  The Abergele home has gone now as have my parents, so it's good to know that there's a lovely alternative should I feel the call of these old familiar Welsh hills again.  Thank you for the provisions and having us.

Julie & Barry October 2024 (guest book)

We've had a lovely week at The Lodge.  The accommodation is perfect.  Charlie & Carl have thought of everything.  Have seen a lot of North Wales which is beautiful and Snowdonia was spectacular!  The welcome goodies were much appreciated.  Thank you

Barry & Karen September 2024 (guest book) 2nd return stay

Our second visit and as brilliant as the last - if not better!  We have visited many castles in the area and enjoyed the splendid views.  Bodnant was beautiful after the rain and conwy well worth the visit.  Thank you for the welcome goodies we have been spoilt.  You have thought of everything to make a holiday special.  We walked the old railway track to Prestatyn and Y Shed partway provided a good cuppa and cake to get back up the hill to The Lodge.  We will be back - take care until we see you again.

Suzie & Dad September 2024 (guest book) 4th return stay.

Fabulous stay as always.  Our fourth visit (I think) and we'll definitely be back again.  The Lodge provides everything we could possibly need.

Sue & Clive September 2024 (guest book)

We've had a super stay in this fabulous spot.  Thank you for your generous welcome pack.  The Lodge is nicely presented and well equipment, however, a dishwasher would definitely have made it 5 starts.  It's a pity the toilet is so far away from the bedroom for visits at night disturbing the log in the kitchen, we didn't appreciate the bins next to eating and removed to the vestibule specially dog waste.

Hi Sue & Clive, thank you for your feedback and I'd like to explain our decisions in how we've set-up The Lodge.  We decided against installing a dishwasher in favour of a tumble dryer as a lot of our guests and walkers and appreciate having fast washing & drying facilities

The Lodge was a former stables and it made sense when converting to residential accommodation to locate the bathroom where the existing plumbing was located and not having to change the size of the existing spaces and the configuration made the conversion easier.

Having so many bins in the kitchen is a pain, but unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your views), Wales now requires all homes and businesses to recycle 5 different waste streams.  We felt relocating the bins to the vestibule and greeting guests when they first arrive wasn't very welcoming and we were also keen to keep the blanket box in the vestibule to provide seating as a lot of our guests have mobility issues.

Please be assured we clean and sanitise the inside of the indoor recycling bins at every changeover and we would expect most dog owners will dispose of their dog waste directly to the outside recycling bins and using the dog waste bags we also provide.

Zahlia, Tony & Charlie September 2024 (guest book)

Thank you for the lovely welcome pack.  The Lodge is a beautiful place and very suitable for people with mobility difficulties being all on one level.  Enjoyed our visit to Llandudno and Rhyl as there are pretty flat sea front walks for Wheelchair users.  Beautiful countryside and impressive castle at Conwy.  Charlie the dog loved the paddock.

Barrie, Ann & Bella August 2024 (guest book)

We spent one moment in time here and found the accommodation to be rightly graded as five star with every possible thing provided.  It would have been interesting to be told the history of the stable conversion as we had little contact with the owners and nothing in the information pack. .

Hi Barrie & Ann.  The Lodge stables were built in the 1990's and converted to residential accommodation around 2012.  It became a holiday let in February 2019.  The bathroom was the location of the tack room and the kitchen, lounge and bedroom were three separate stables.  When we converted to living accommodation ,we opened up the ceilings to create vaulted ceilings in the three main rooms and we also put in French doors in both the kitchen and lounge.

Bren, Ken & Jim August 2024 (guest book)

We've had a lovey weeks stay and we even had some glorious weather!!  Thank you Charlie & Carl

Ste, Sue & Dickie July 2024 (guest book)

Great place, fab location.  Enjoyed the beach and nature walks and Gwrych Castle was awesome.  Thanks very much for our warm welcome and Welsh goodies, Diloch.  PS The Lodge is better equipped than our house.

Neil & Julia July 2024 (guest book) - 3rd return stay

Thanks for yet another superb stay.  Already planning out next one with you.  Always so much to do, we went to Chester and Llandudno in amongst walking everywhere we could

Wanda, Ian & Dennis June 2024 (guest book)

We wanted to take a moment to express our thanks for your incredible hospitality and the comfort you provided during our stay.  Your warm welcome made us feel right at home and we truly appreciate all the effort you put into making our visit to enjoyable.  Thank you once again for everything.  Warm regards.

Richard, Debbie & Cookie May 2024 (guest book) - 3rd return stay

This is now our 4th visit and it has been truly amazing!  Thank you Charlie 7 Carl for "the perfect stay".  We found the perfect walk along the sea in Ffrith.  Just follow the signs for Ffrith Bowling Club with lots of parking, hot drinks and perfect for dogs too!  Looking forward to our next visit already.

Mick & Louise May 2024 (guest book)

Magnificent all round stay.  The Lodge we would recommend to any of our friends who want to visit North Wales, again many thanks for recommendations of places to visit and walks to go on.  We will be back next year to explore some more.  PS. great welcome pack, its the best we have ever had.

Sarah, Mark & Bella March 2024 (guest book)

Thank you for a lovely break in The Lodge.  Our every need was catered for and we loved the beautiful welcome pack.  We particularly enjoyed Llandudno and a beach walk between Rhyl and Prestatyn.  There's clearly so much more to see and do than we had a chance to fit in.  We would definitely recommend both North Wales and The Lodge.

Rose, Joe & Archie February 2024 (guest book)

Thank you charlotte and Carl for such a lovely stay.  Everything was just perfect and the setting is wonderful.  Archie the dog loved running around the paddock and the fields beyond.  We would love to stay again.

Ros & Dave January 2024 (guest book)

Thank you for a wonderful week in such a beautiful setting.  Peaceful and tranquil cottage with everything you need and love the added touches, i.e lamp ornaments, bathrobes.  As previously mentioned by other guests, Bodnant gardens worth a visit, Conwy and Chester Zoo too (owner added note: reminder there is also Colwyn Bay Mountain zoo).  Lovely walks on your door step into the paddock and up the hill and Talacre Beach is worth a visit too.  Lemon drizzle cake went down a treat, especially on our return after a visit or walk.  Planning the next visit already (as we see others have done) or like us 2nd visit on the way.  PS.... loved the blackboard welcome too.

2023

Lesley & Neil December 2023 (guest book)

Thank you Charlotte & Carl for such a lovely stay.  We have completely chilled out thanks to your every thought in what people want.  Thank you also for the welcome pack and decorations.  We wish you both the best for the New Year.  See you again soon.

Gill & Charlie - November 2023 (guest book)

Well...... not sure what to say that's not already been covered by your previous guests.  Wonderfully comfortable, warm welcoming and luxurious.......I could go on.  We absolutely loved this haven and look forward to coming back many times in the future.  Thank you.  PS. best welcome pack ever.

Susie & Dan - November 2023 (guest book) 3rd return stay

As always, The Lodge has been the perfect place to escape and relax.  Cosy, clean and perfectly equipped with stunning walks on the doorstep.  We will of course be back again!

Marie & Milly -  November 2023 -(guest book)

Thank you to the most generous of hosts, who have ensured every thought and consideration has been given for the luxurious comfort of their guests.  Everything you could ever hope for or need........ and the welcome gifts were a lovely treat.  The Lodge is very attractive and offered the privacy, peace and quiet I was looking for.  Added bonus - no fireworks for Milly the dog.

Laura & Alex - November 2023  (guest book) 3rd return stay

Another wonderfully relaxing week at The Lodge.  Weather hasn't been great but we've still managed to fit in some very muddy walks.  When the weather was too bad, we cosied up inside, warm and dry and oblivious to the outside world.  We love this place!

Di, Ronnie & Esme 0 October 2023 -(guest book)

We have had the most wonderful time at The Lodge.  We are already thinking about when we can come back.  We have been out and about every day and the weather has been very kind.  The Lodge is beautiful and caters to every need.  So comfortable!  Thank you so much and hopefully Ronnie will feel better soon and we will be back.

Diane Timmins - October 2023 (Google)

This has to be the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in.  Absolutely perfect for us and our border collie.  Everything provided and lovely welcome pack.  We definitely mean to go back so we can sit outside.  There is a lovely seating area, anyone reading this now this is an honest review and you really should book this.  Thanks Charlotte for everything.

Sasha & Ash - October 2023 (guest book) 2nd return stay

What a lovely welcome back gift, Thank you.  This is our second stay at the Lodge and won't be our last.  This time we had an extra addition, our little Ruby and she also loved her stay.  Cannot fault anything, thank you once again.

Linda Harrison -  October (Google)

The Lodge is an amazing place.  Charlie and Carl have really thought of everything you could need for your stay and more.  Charming, beautifully decorated, warm and cosy, it really is a five star stay.  I really hope to return, thank you both for perfection!

Paul, Betty & Holli - September 2023 -(guest book)

We had a lovely time shame about the weather.  Nice cottage, quiet location, host were pleasant and helpful.

Jenny & Bob - September 2023 (guest book_

A most relaxing, peaceful stay as well as attending a wedding at the Beaches Hotel in Prestatyn.  Good venue right on the foreshore, pity about the rain.  Lovely views on many local walks and even saw the pig in the driveway paddock.  Don't forget to visit Llandudno, we did the train ride along the Conwy Valley and also Bodnant Gardens (again the in the rain unfortunately).  Excellent based here at The Lodge.

Sarah, Stephen & Isla -  August 2023 (guest book)

Charlie & Carl a big thank you for being great hosts.  We had a fab time and the welcome pack was greatly appreciated and the bubbly for our return visit and the Lodge was as welcoming as usual.  For the next guests places we liked:-  To walk our dog Isla, the Dyserth to Presatyn old railway line walk, out of here left and right at the main T junction turn right and the left into the free carpark, its approx 4 miles and a wee stop on the way.  Llandudno, Snowdonia and Chester is great (a tudor walled city and shops), Best-y-Coed, Swallow Falls.

Clive & Josephine - August 2023 (guest book)

Read all the other comments can't add anything.  Absolutely fabulous.  We had a great time.

Mick & Paul  -July 2023 (guest book)

Absolutely fantastic!  Charlotte & Carl you have a wonderful home here and the beauty shows through.  We had an amazing time and thank you for your help.  Dillon the dog loved running on the grass and listening to birds and animals although didn't like the snails (he barks at them).

Lucy - July 2023 (guest book)

Danae (the dog) and I have had a lovely stay as The Lodge.  I loved all the welcome treats and Danae loved her holiday bed which she immediately made herself comfortable in.  The decor has made me feel like I need to up my game at home.  It's been so quiet which is a nice change from home.  We've had a very active holiday doing walks at Llyn Elsi, Llyn Idwal and Conwy Mountain.  We did a boat trip and saw puffins, seals and tortoises and the we met the red squirrals at Wills feeding station at The Dingle on Anglesey.  I did the zip line while Danae was resting in the doggy day card onsite (pre book).  Today our last day we took the paddleboard out and thanks for The Lodge shed which meant I had somewhere safe to store it.  The Lodge had everything I needed and more, thanks so much , Lucy and Danae

Graham & Wendy & Daisy - July 2023 (guest book)

We have had a wonderful time in The Lodge and will tell family and friends all about it.  Daisy our dog who we have only had for a few months loved the garden and her first trip to the beach and into the sea.  We hope to come again.

Richard & Margaret - June 2023 (guest book)

Alan Littley - August 2023 (Google)

Stayed at this beautiful lodge 2-9th July.  A quiet little hideaway within easy walking distance of the village and the waterfalls where there is a great little cafe where me and my dog went every morning for a nice coffee and to sit watching the water rush by.  The Lodge is a great place to stay if you love hiking being close to the start of the Offas Dyke path and a lovely path that takes you right to centre of Prestatyn with a couple of nice cafes on the way.  I would definitely stay here again.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in The Lodge, what a lovely find with everything you could possibly need, very comfortable home from home.  Thanks very much for the lovely goodies on our arrival.  We have enjoyed the lovely scenery and the walks we have done especially from The Lodge.  The walk along the old railway track to Prestatyn is very good with a nice cup of tea halfway.

Bernard & Adele - June 2023 (guest book)

Thank you Charlie and Carl The Lodge is a place.  We see many places and lovely country sides.  Wales have many walks and lovely walks.  Thank you for having us.

Barry & Karen - June 2023 (guest book)

Thank you for sharing this special place.  We have enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back to visit again.  The weather was been kind and even the much needed rain didn't cause any issues.  We hope your water butts are now topped up.  The 'welcome pack' was wonderful - we have walked off the calories.  Until the next time...........

Richard Debbie & Cookie May 2023 (guest book) - 3rd Return stay

Yet another lovely and comfortable visit on our third visit!  Still can't believe how well we've been spoilt with all the lovely home comforts and welcoming goodies.

Neil & Julie May 2023 (guest book) - 2nd Return stay

Thanks for another fantastic stay.  We have been able to make the most of all the walking available both from the front door and further afield (Bodfari).  We walked into Prestatyn using the disused railway track located at the bottom of Hiraddug Road - 4 miles to the actual beach.  Getting out onto the Offa's Dyke was great and such fantastic views.  The Lodge is brilliant and is such a good base for many things in the surrounding area.  Strongly recommend Bodnant Gardens and Llandudno, lovely pub in the centre called the Cottage Loaf.

Lisa, Vic & Ronnie April 2023 (guest book) - 2nd Return stay

Our second stay and as lovely as ever.  Perfect Lodge in a perfect location and so beautifully set up.  Peace and tranquility, rest and relaxation.

Margarita & Gareth March 2023 (guest book)

We have had the most amazing three days away at The Lodge.  The best equipped and decorated cottage we have stayed in.  Peaceful and quiet is what we needed and we will definitley return.  The welcome pack was a lovely addition to our stay!  See you soon.

Lyndsey, Peter & Gizmo Mach 2023 (guest book) - 2nd Return stay (booked for 2024)

This is our 2nd visit to The Lodge and already planning for next year!  Definitely our home from home and Charlie & Carl have made that happen.  The most wonderful hosts and the lovely welcome back gift was an amazing touch.  We thoroughly enjoyed it and even Gizmo felt at home this time around.  Don't really need to write much more as The Lodge and the surroundings speak for themselves.  Thank you so much Charlie and Carl for the most perfect few days away.

David, Madeline & Winchester February 2023 (guest book)

Very much enjoyed our week at The Lodge.  Excellent walks from here and the surrounding area.  Thank you for the lovely welcome goodies.

Rebecca, Darren & Mollie December 2022 (guest book) - Return stay

Wow, what can we say!  A fantastic cosy place to see in the New Year.  Absolutely nothing was missing from this wonderful cottage.  Our only regret was that we didn't stay for long enough so we will returning.  Thank you so much for providing a home better than home.

Dawn, Andy & Kaiser November 2022 (guest book)

What a gem!!  We found The Lodge superbly equipped with every convenience thought of with love and care.  An exceptional home from home that I will be happy to share with friends and family as long as they don't want to book when I do :-)   The welcome pack was "most welcome" and the arrival instructions spot on.  Thank you for sharing with us.

Tony & Lorraine November 2022 (guest book)

The Lodge is very beautiful and every thought has gone into making it a wonderful place to stay.  Thank you

Neil & Tanya November 2022 (guest book)

We have had a lovely time in The Lodge, absolutely beautiful place and the welcoming pack was brilliant.

Laura & Alex October 2022 (guest book) - Return stay

This was our second stay at The Lodge and it won't be our last.  It's just absolutely perfect.  The weather was kind to us this time so we enjoyed lots of walking and finally got to visit Bodnant Gardens - it's fantastic and we highly recommend it.  Thanks for the lovely gift, very thoughtful and was thoroughly enjoyed in the bath (which we will miss so much)!.  We'll be back!

Paul Magor October (Google) 2022

Lovely cottage for two, tucked away on a rural hillside.  Great place to escape too.

Mathew & Megan October 2022 (guest book)

This has been a lovely stay in a beautiful well maintained property.  Thank you very much for the welcome pack and the opportunity to stay in your property.

Carol & Paul October 2022 (guest book)

This was our first time at The Lodge and it certainly exceeded expectations.  Comfortable, cosy, warm and calming - just was we needed to relax and recuperate.  Very home from home, my favourite was the big bath - which I made use of during this luxurious break.  We also enjoyed a few trips out but the highlight was being able to chill out in such comfort.  I certainly don't think this will be our last visit.

Mel, Dawn & Macy September 2022 (guest book) - Return Stay

This was our 2nd stay at The Lodge (we were here last Christmas) and yet again it was so welcoming and relaxing.  Thank you so much for all the provisions, so very thoughtful.  We will definitely be returning.

Sasha, Ash & Gunner September 2022 (guest book)

Thank you for providing such a lovely lodge.  The welcome goodies were a Godsend as we arrived so late at night.  Everything about The Lodge is perfect, Gunner settled in and loved it and we felt so lucky to wake up to loads of cows at the back age one morning.  Gunner made friends with a few haha.  Future guests we would highly recommend Robs Fish * Chps (20 min drive, were still red hot) they were aamzing.  Also Colwyn Bay beach was ace for the dog.  We will be returning and spreading the word.

Vickie, Gary & Lula July 2022 (guest book)

What a beautiful relaxing holiday we have experienced here at The Lodge, from the thoughtful welcome goodies provided to us on our arrival and even down to providing the littles extras for our fur baby Lula.  The rooms are all tastefully decorated and all the little quirky extra's make this place a home from home.  We are sad to be leaving but will definitely be returning in the future and recommending to our family & friends.  Many thanks

Jude, David & Lenny July 2022 (guest book) - Return Stay

This is a return visit to The Lodge and it was so lovely to be back.  A chilled and relaxing break in the=is 5* accommodation and a delicious welcome back treat waiting for us.  The weather has been kind so we have been able to explore new areas to us and of course Lenny has loved running around the paddock.  Looking forward to returning.  Thanks a lot.

Steve Nadia & Gem June 2022 (guest book)

We have really enjoyed our stay here, found it very relaxing and restful.  Thank you for the welcome pack, it was most enjoyable especially the bacon and eggs.  Our dog 'Gem' has also found it a pleasure to chase rabbits in the paddock.  PS.  The decor isn't bad either!!

Suzie & Dan June 2022 (guest book) - Return Stay

So lovely to come back and enjoy The Lodge again.  It really does have everything we could possibly want and the welcome pack is always very welcome!  Another very relaxing week.

Sam & Paul June 2022 (guest book)

We had a lovely stay this week in this beautiful cottage.  The welcome goodies were a real treat, especially the little chocolate corgis to mark the Queen's Jubilee.  The cottage is well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay.  Everything is well thought out from the style and all those little extras, such a peaceful location yet the beaches and attractions are within easy reach.  Absolute perfection!  Thank you.

Debbie, Richard & Cookie May 2022 (guest book) - Return Stay

Another relaxing, clean and comfortable stay!  We are still overwhelmed by all the special little touches from the goodies to the lovely soft blankets/throws for those cosy evenings!  There are too many reasons to mention but "The Lodge" is now our 2nd home and Cookie was spoilt too with his own big bed, bowls and throws too.  Its so lovely to come away and only need to bring your personal belongings with you and what else could we ask for.

Jonathan and Jennifer May 2022 (guest book)

A lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the world.  Lots to see and do particularly if you like castles - we do and Bodnant Gardens was the highlight.  Everything we needed and more is supplied and I'm certainly fitter after walking into the village and back for the paper every morning.  Thanks for a lovely stay!

Franklin & Binky May 2022 (guest book)

A delightful place - hard to think of anything the owners have not supplied.  Everything of super quality.  Thank you.

Patsy, Richard & Ruby May 2022 (guest book)

We have had a wonderful holiday in North Wales, so much to do and see.  The Lodge has made it even more special by being more than 5* accommodation with thought put into making it a 'home from home'.  Thank you Charlie & Carl

Debbie, Neil & Dudley April 2022 (guest book)

Lovely well equipped lodge in a beautiful location.  Everything thought of including 'little extras', delicious food package left for us including bacon and eggs, cake, break and milk.  Easter gift bag being one of the 'little' extras' along with the jug of daffs!  Very thoughtful!  Very clean accommodation, spacious rooms and smells delicious.  Dressing gowns and slippers, again, another one of the 'little extra's!  Dog bowls, bed and blanket also very thoughtful.  All in all - EXCELLENT  Top hole!

Theresa, Paul & Boris April 2022 (guest book)

You have made The Lodge an absolutely fabulous get away place to stay.  From the welcome goodies, to the BEST equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in.  It has been a real treat to have a kitchen with utensils, etc that work and are actually useful - we were spoilt.  Didn't get the chance to try the fabulous looking bath tub - may have to come back again just for that!  Paul & Boris enjoyed some walks straight from the front door and there are many places to visit not too far away.  Just the break we needed and  The Lodge made it that extra special.  Thank you for a most comfortable sta.  PS:  Bodant Gardens are definitely worth a visit!

Debbie & Paul - March 2022 (guest book)

A beautiful cottage equipped with everything we needed and more!  Thank you so much for all the goodies, such a clean, warm and welcoming place to stay.  Will definitely recommend to our friends.  Have enjoyed days out to Llandudno and walking on the Great Orme, Llangollen and the wonderful Bodnant Gardens.  Thank you again - one of the best (if not the best) cottage we have stayed in.

Rachael & Paul - March 2022 (guest book)

This has been just the relaxing time we needed.  Lovely location and perfect accommodation for us.  Thank you for all the welcome goodies and the "croesco" on the blackboard - a lovely touch which made us feel instantly welcome and at home.  You have thought of everything - it is so well equipped here and we had fun playing some of the games and trying the nutri-bullet, we're a convert! although our sluggy green efforts fell a bit short of the vibrant red and yellow juices advertised.  Thank you again - we will tell all our friends about "The Lodge".

Lyndsey, Peter & Gizmo March 2022 (guest book)

Where do we start...... the weather absolutely amazing for the time of year, The Lodge was absolutely amazing and was in the perfect location.  Every bit of our few days away were catered for, the welcome pack on arrival was a beautiful touch and made us feel at home from the start.  A multitude of walks right on the doorstep with stunning views, everything about our stay was fantastic and couldn't fault our hosts.  Charlie and carl for making us feel at home and help was on hand if we needed it.  Our fur baby Gizmo was well catered for too and loved every second of our stay.  We will definitely be back next year (guests have booked to return in March 2023)

Marie, Michael & Callie March 2022 (guest book)

Thank you so much for the welcome written on the blackboard what a thoughtful touch and all the goodies too!  The Lodge is truly a beautiful home with everything that's needed.  Its been a lovely week stayed dry and Callie has enjoyed her stay playing ball in the garden and she's been kept safe for us being secure all round.  We will definitely be back when we come for a visit to Wales.

Angel, Craig & Bob March 2022 (guest book)

A truly wonderful few days. Everything catered for, the welcome pack very much appreciated - lemon drizzle cake - how can you go wrong!  Location central for both walking and days out, the weather really doesn't matter.  Hope to be back again.  Thank you.

Eddie & Linda February 2022(guest book)

Great experience which we will remember for some time to come.  So much thought and effort evidently has gone into The Lodge.  Diolch yn fawr iawn (thank you very much).

Sharon, Jonathan & Oscar February 2022 (guest book)

What a beautiful Lodge, decorated and furnished perfectly.  We thought the welcome pack was excellent and was well received. Very solidly built as we were here for storm 'Eunice'.  We were warm and dry and couldn't hear the wind so much yet it was much louder outside.  The next day it was snowing briefly but all added to the experience.  We have visited many of the places previously mentioned and feel this is the perfect base for exploring.

We will definitely recommend to all our friends with and without fur babies.

Kathryn & Andy January 2022 (guest book)

Cosy and comfortable cottage - everything you could ever need in a holiday home and more.  Totally relaxing - just what we needed!  Plenty of walks in the area which were suitable for me on crutches -flat and proper paths!  Local butchers highly recommend.  Hope to return and do some of the other walks when more mobile.  Thank you!

Mike, Lindy & Maisie January 2022 (guest book)

Wonderfully clean and well appointed cottage.  Charlie has thought of every comfort and has furnished the interior with great taste.  On hand when we had a problem working the TV, who could ask for more.  We would not hesitate to return or recommend to others.

Dawn, Mel & Macy December 2021 (guest book)

We enjoyed Christmas here so much we've booked for my birthday in September.  The location is great, The Lodge is amazing with everything you could think of.  Home away from home.

Becky & Alastair December 2021 (guest book)

What a great place, so well decorated for Christmas.  Love everything - we will be back.

Lou, Steve & Mabel November 2021 (guest book)

What a fabulous 4 days we've had here.  The Lodge is wonderful - decor so serene.  Loads of great walks from the doorstep.  We walked the Dyserth to Prestatyn route (and back!), had a drink in the local pub a couple of nights (y Bod......).  Very dog friendly!  Lovely time.

Pamela & Miley November 2021 (guest book)

This place is amazing!!!  So relaxing,  Miley is a rescue dog and worried about everything and she has loved it here.  We have both really enjoyed our stay.  Thank you so much.

David, Sandra & Bella November 2021 (guest book)

Just the relaxing time we needed.  Perfect location and accommodation for us.  Thank you for the welcome goodies, we felt at home from the minute we walked through the door.

Jean & Gordon October 2021 (guest book)

Thank you both for the lovely welcome and for all the goodies.  We have been really comfortable and have enjoyed our stay here.

Robert, Nicola & Lola October 2021 (guest book) - return stay

Our long awaited second visit there and it didn't disappoint.  The Lodge is exactly as we remembered it and we instantly felt as though we had come home.  I cooked very evening and have to say the kitchen is amazingly well stocked, probably more so than at home!  It seems every need and eventuality is catered for and The Lodge is immaculately clean.  How can you improve on perfection you may ask?  Well, on our last visit we mentioned how a comfy chair in the kitchen would be welcome for Robert to relax in as we spent a lot of time in there with Lola and while I cooked and hey prestol!  there's a comfy chair and a larger fridge freezer.  Absolutely perfect.  Thank you!

Sharon & Steve September 2021 (guest book) - return stay

This is our second visit to the lodge and it is as lovely as I remembered.  A welcome treat including cake and biscuits were waiting and which was just what we needed.  You cannot fault this place and the decor - so inspiring.  We went to Bodnant Gardens which was well worth the visit.  There are so many walks and places to visit that are not too far away.  I won't be surprised if we come back again.

Fantastic cottage, lovely decor through-out, very homely, well equipped for everything in the kitchen.  Location excellent, we travelled no more than an hour away so great base to get to Betwys Y Coed, Conwy, Llandudno, Anglesey. Weather was mixed but great coast paths.  We certainly recommend The Lodge to our own friends and family and we'd love to come back.  Only one criticism would be the fridge is too small and low and a 'Smeg' fridge would top off the great kitchen.  A big thank you for the welcome pack, Welsh butter, bacon, eggs, bread, cake, etc were delicious.  Cottage spotlessly clean, welcoming and classy - Thank you both for your kind review and we've listened to our guests as you are not the first to mention the small fridge size so we have now purchased a freestanding full size fridge/freezer.

Great cottage, great location made to feel really welcome

Stephen, Sarah & Isla September 2021 (guest book)

The lodge is a marvelous retreat!!  Thank you  so much for the goodies really appreciated.  The attention to detail is exceptional from the doggy bowls to the chocolates on the pillow this is definitely 5 stars -  a big thank you from us.  For the next guests, places we visited:- Lanndudno - Great Orme coastal road leading to the west shore - beautiful views, great beach at the end for four legged friends.  Bodnant Gardens - wow!,  Prestatyn, great town and beach,  Rhyl - avoid but beaches lovely though, Conwy and castle - amazing history and worth a visit.  We will be back.

Claire, Kelvin & Boris August 2021 (guest book)

Perfect holiday!  Amazing lodge, with everything we could possibly need, beautiful location, so quiet and peaceful.  Comfortable and relaxing and really appreciated the welcome pack and additional bathroom luxuries - loved the bath!  We were lucky with the weather and got lots of lovely walks in - Boris has loved every minute.  Many thanks.

Angela & Ken August 2021 (guest book)

What a lovely restful retreat!!  We envy you having the luxury of seeing gorgeous scenery all year long!  The Lodge is a place to totally relax and unwind.  Opening the front door is like "coming home" and the blend of modern and traditional has been expertly undertaken.  We loved the quirky items such as the suitcases on the wardrobe, the "tap" loo roll and hand towel holders in the bathroom etc.

The welcome pack was just that - most welcome and it meant we could feel at home straight away.  We were delighted to meet both of you - such gracious and welcoming hosts.  The weather hasn't been the greatest but this hasn't detracted from the enjoyment of our stay.  To sum up, great stay, great house, great views, great hosts.  Thank you. xx

Lexi & Chris July 2021 (guest book)

We have had a lovely week at The Lodge and have really appreciated all the thoughtful extra touches that really make this feel like a home from home.  The scenery is beautiful and we felt very relaxed as soon as we arrived.

We've had a fabulous time at The Lodge.  The lovely accommodation is clean with tasteful decor and furnishings.  Peaceful location, perfect to relax and unwind.  We will definitely be back.

Sandra, Roland & Gertie July 2021 (guest book)

We've had a fabulous time, thank you.  Visiting the local area and straying further afield but coming home to a beautiful cottage.  Gertie loved the paddock but was never quick enough to catch the rabbits.  Stunning location with fabulous accommodation.

Rachael, Kevin & Denby July 2021 (guest book) Return Stay

This was our third visit to your wonderful cottage.  The weather was kind and perfect for getting out and about to some lovely places not too far away.  Beautiful location and peaceful !!  Already looking forward to next time

Thank you for a fantastic holiday venue.  The cottage is perfect: lovely location, clean, beautifully decorated and thank you again for the emergency trip to locate after sun - much appreciated.  We only have positive things to say - would be lovely to come back.  (Guests have already booked for a return in 2022).

Linda, Charles & Ollie June 2021 (guest book)

Thank you for a wonderful weeks holiday.  The Lodge is beautiful; delightfully furnished and so well equipped down to the last detail.  We have enjoyed superb weather, forest and beach walks with the dog and plenty of good  food and drink at the local restaurants and pubs.  Ollie has enjoyed the freedom in the paddock and loves the dog bowls - will have to buy some myself.

Alexandria, Ethan & Sheba June 2021 (guest book)

Thank you!  What a wonderful place you have - 5*.  We have had such a wonderful time here - everything we needed was here waiting for us, just the relaxing mini-moon we needed!  Brilliant for us and the dog!  Keep doing what your doing.  We shall be back again.

Claire, Dan & Billy November 2020 (guest book)

The Lodge is a beautiful place to be, relaxing, warm and inviting.  This break was exactly what we needed.  Everything you could possibly need is here and more.  It is clean and safe here and we can't wait to come back.

Jo, Lorraine, & Ruby September 2020 (guest book) - return stay

5* Accommodation and 5* hosts.  Thank you for a much needed break which ended with a local lockdown - what a year!  Looking forward to some normality and we will return.  Hope things pick up for you too following the local lockdown as you and The Lodge deserve every success and people need to experience it also.  Stay well and safe.  Hopefully see you soon!

Sharon and Steve September 2020 (guest book)

I really love this place, it has charm, style and magical little touches everywhere.  it's the perfect retreat where everything is available for your needs.  I can't wait to tell everyone about it when I get home and will recommend it for the location as well.  We got to see many places (not enough) which were not too far away.  Thank you for making us feel welcome in your beautiful lodge.

Rosemary & Louis September 2020 (guest book)

One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in - definitely deserves its 5 stars.  Thank you too for all the goodies and particularly the lemon cake.  We've had a good week visiting an area we haven't been to for many years and we really enjoyed LLandudno and Bodnant.  Would agree with an earlier comment about the fridge and it is also low down for people with rickety knees.

Jane & Bella  August 2020 (guest book)

The most wonderful week, amazing walks straight from my front door.  The Lodge has been converted from a stable block with a sympathetic eye.  The interior is outstanding in design and every need has been carefully thought through. The location is superb, peaceful, tranquil yet close to all the facilities you might want.  The little cheese monger in Rhuddlan is definitely worth a visit.  Charlie and Carl can't do enough to ensure a comfortable and special experience in the Vale of Clwyd.  Thank you so much.

Rebecca & Tony August 2020 (cottages.com)

This cottage had everything you needed. It was spotless and decorated to a very high standard.  The owners were lovely and available when needed. They accommodated Covid guidelines well.  It's ideally situated in a beautiful scenic area.  We would definitely go again.

May & Alex August 2020 (guest book)

What an incredible week we've had at The Lodge.  It's been the perfect get away.  Such a beautiful cosy place to stay with fabulous views and great days in Snowdonia!.  We had such an amazing welcome and we can't wait to come again!  Thank you.

Helen, Andy & Loki July 2020 (guest book)

The Lodge certainly lived up to it's excellent reviews.  10 our of 10 for cleanliness which made us feel safe in the present situation.  Having the paddock on walks from the doorstop was ideal for our border collie and even though it was the school holidays it was so quiet and peaceful.  It there is a small criticism it's we struggled getting everything in the fridge for self catering but we just about manage.  Would love to visit you again.  (PLEASE NOTE WE NOW HAVE A FULL SIZE FRIDGE/FREEZER)

Review by Sonja & Danny July 2020 (guest book)

What a fantastically lovely and relaxing stay at The Lodge, just what we needed after months stuck at home.  The owners really have thought of everything and made the place feel clean and safe in these weird circumstances.  It was perfect in all the weathers we experienced here.  thank you very much.

Review by Janet, Adrian March 2020 (guest book)

Like previous guests we found the cottage to be well equipped and very comfortable.  Thank you for all the supplies.  An ideal location for visiting family in and around Denbigh and also for exploring the North Wales coast.

Review by Adrian & Angela March 2020 (guest book)

Fabulous break at The Lodge.  What an exceptional cottage - we loved everything about it.  We struck lucky with the weather and walked every day.  The views from the top of Moel Hiarddug are stunning as was the walk to Rhuddlan down quiet lanes.  The Dyserth to Prestatyn Way is another good route (easy walking on the flat).  Given the recent rainfall The Dyserth Waterfall was in full force.  Many thanks.

Jo Garner February 2020 (google)

Stayed for a few very windy days back in February before the Covid nightmare.  The Lodge is absolutely beautiful and the owners have thought of absolutely everything for your stay.  We didn't do much exploring because the weather was awful but it didn't matter, I was blissfully happy inside.  I'm returning next month.

Review by Ellen & Leo February 2020 (guest book)

Thank you for a wonderful time!  The cottage is gorgeous and you feel at home straight away.  You have thought of every possible detail to make our stay as perfect as possible, right down to the slippers.  Despite the weather (Storm Dennis) the cottage was always warm, bright and welcoming.  I can't think of a nicer place to hide from the rain.  We are already planning a return visit, hopefully when its a bit warmer.

Review by Lorraine, Jo & Ruby February 2020 (guest book) (booked to return again in September 2020)

Awful weather (Storm Ciara) but the most beautiful place to be stuck indoors in.  Thank you so much.

Review by Marie, Dave & Westie February 2020 (guest book)

Thank you for a fabulous time.  Warm and toasty and very well equipped - all the touches made the week very special.  Westie loved the garden and run of the field.  What a perfect place!  Hope to come back again for another wonderful time.  Good luck in your venture and all the best.

Thank you Charlie and Carl for a wonderful stay at your cottage.  A home away from home.  Beautiful Decor!  You thought of everything to make our stay in Wales so very memorable and we even got some really sunny days!  Thanks for my 70th birthday balloons and cake, you made my day!.  Thanks again.

A fabulous stay in a homely and spotless accommodation with all you need for a great holiday.  Thank you for a wonderful welcome pack, looking forward to our next visit.

Review by Laura and Alex October 2019 (guest book)

Wow, what a gorgeous place!  Everything is absolutely spot on.  The decor is lovely, the bed is comfy and we wanted for nothing in the kitchen.  It was always warm and cosy and I'm actually happy it rained on Saturday as it gave me the perfect excuse to lie in the amazing bath for a couple of hours.  This is how all holiday properties should be.  We've had an amazing break and wish we could have stayed longer.  Thank you Charlie and Carl.  The Lodge is the best holiday cottage we've ever stayed in.

Review by Chris, Guiseppe and Teddy October 2019 (guest book)

Thank you for a lovely, peaceful and relaxing break.  Everything is catered for, all the little extras that many rentals should take note!  The food items, dressing gowns, slippers, a well equipped kitchen, etc, everything has been thought of.  Well done to you both, an excellent well presented cottage.

Review by Robert, Nicola and Lola October 2019 (guest book) (booked to return in 2020).

Absolutely perfect, from the moment we arrived we felt welcome and at home.  We love the decor and the supplied throws are a lovely touch on a cooler autumn evening when the heating is still not required.  I cooked every evening and found all kitchen equipment to be excellent quality.  We wanted for nothing!  We slept extremely well all week and the complete darkness and silence was amazing.  If perfection could be improved, my husband would have welcomed a comfy chair in the kitchen where he could relax with the dog.  Overall 10/10 and the owners are lovely and friendly too without being intrusive.  We will definitely be back! xx  (Owners comment:  a newly purchased leather wingback armchair now resides in the kitchen Dec 2019).

Review by Steve, Carole and Harley September 2019 (guest book)

We really had a great time at The Lodge.  this is the best holiday let we have ever stayed in and every detail is spot on.  We hope to be back next year.  Thank you Charlotte & Carl.

Review by Maureen and Wal September 2019 (guest book)

Congratulations to Charlotte and Carl, this is the best holiday let we have EVER stayed in and the attention to detail is fab!  The standards are very high and as a pair of oldies our comforts come high on the list.  Rosie gives it a paws up too!

Review by Andrew and Michele August 2019 (guest book)

We can only reiterate everything that has been written in the guest book.  The Lodge is perfect!  It is the best and most thoughtfully equipped rental we have stayed in and the decor is of the highest quality.  We will definitely return and will recommend The Lodge to all our friends.  Thanks to Charlotte and Carl for providing a wonderful break.

Review by Mike and Annette August 2019 (guest book)

We really enjoyed staying at The Lodge.  It felt like I was at home!  I am impressed how Charlie and Carl have thought about EVERYTHING!!  Aside from the quality of the decor and amenities you have even thought about emergency needs too!  I actually needed to use the sewing kit to adjust my strap and used a plaster for a small blister acquired climbing Snowden!  You have gone far beyond any rental we have used and please keep it up.  We will definitely be recommending to our friends and will come back annually to this Lodge.  We didn't miss home or our bed at all.  The welcome cake and food was just the best.

Review by Andrea and Norman August 2019 (guest book) - return stay

Another amazing stay (our second time staying at The Lodge).  Weather didn't want to be summery but nevermind, we managed day trips together and one highlight was Llandudno and the cable car, really amazing on one of our sunny days (tip for anyone visiting the cable car is to remember to take cash as no cards).  Penrhy NT castle is great for all ages and the 1950's museum in Denbigh is great for remembering past years and you can actually touch everything.  Also for me, two amazing walks in Snowdonia and Aber Falls (great for a shorter walk) and Dulyn resevori and the hills above.  Accommodation is amazing with everything you could ever need and more.

Review by Sheila, Philip and Maggie (the bassett) August 2019 (guest book)

Perfect from start to end.  You have made The Lodge a home from home.  Philip has truly relaxed which is good for his health and I have enjoyed making special meals for us both.  Our wedding anniversary was just perfect and many many thanks for all your hard work making The Lodge possible to come to for a holiday - we will be back for sure.

Review by Reg and Mags July 2019 (guest book)

Return visit and what can we say that hasn't been said already - it's just FAB-U-LOUS!!  A home from home in a glorious location.  Every last detail thought of from the delicious welcome pack (essentials and cake) to the very well kitted out and tastefully decorated rooms.  Loads of ideas provided for great days out.  Many thanks Charlie and Carl.  We hope to stay again very soon.

Review by Janet and Bill July 2019 (guest book)

Thank you Charlie and Carl what a lovely surprise when we arrived.  The Lodge is perfect in every way and the welcome pack was gratefully received, the cake was to die for.

Review by Catherine and Bryan July 2019 (guest book)

What a beautiful place with such a superb welcome and everything thought of to ensure we had a comfortable stay.  The Lodge immediately felt like home.  The top compliment we can give is that we will definitely be back!  All the best from a now peaceful and relaxed couple.

Review by Anne and Graham June 2019 (guest book)

Thank you for the thoughtful and meticulous preparations making our stay most comfortable and enjoyable.  From Anglesey to Chester and up and down the Conwy and Clwyd valleys we found many things and places to enjoy - an enchanting part of the world.

Review by Peter and Mariel June 2019 (guest book)

From day one we felt really at home!  What a wonderful cottage.  Beautifully decorated and everything you would need for a 14 day stay.  This won't be our last visit to either The Lodge nor North Wales!

Review by Linda and Colin (aka Mike) May 2019 (guest book)

What can we say that hasn't been said already!  Luxury I think best describes The Lodge.  We forgot our binoculars but they were provided (yes you have thought of everything).  Even luxury for our obedient border collie.  Sad to leave, especially as we were blessed with good weather but have to get back to reality at some point.  Like other guests have said would like to return some day.  Colin and Carl really got on well and although we didn't meet Charlotte the Comms were excellent - nothing to much trouble.  Thanks for providing a super break, Linda, Colin (aka Mike) and Tyler. xxx

Review by Jo and Bill May 2019 (guest book)

We are really enjoying our stay in the beautiful Lodge.  Beautifully presented, beautifully clean and each room smells beautifully clean.  Everything has been thought of and our King Charles Cavalier loved his regal bed, food and water dishes and the special dog towel provided (much softer than the one we brought with us).  We are sorry to leave and have felt really at home here.  Despite the unseasonal cold and at times wet weather, the Lodge has been cosy and warm.  We have been out and about and seen some gorgeous scenery and with so much still to see and do all the more reason to return.  Typically on the day we leave the weather has picked up.  Many thanks for all your helpful directions.  Bill, Jo and Reuben - Stirling, Scotland.   Our first visit to wales but not our last.

Review by Sue and Bob Thompson May 2019 (guest book)

Really very good cottage - one of the best we have stayed in.  Had a really lovely relaxing week which was just what we needed.  The attention to the little details really make a difference - dressings gowns and slippers were a good touch.   We look forward to staying again in the future.

Review by Liz and guest April 2019 (Google)

I don't often leave a review but The Lodge deserves one!  One of the nicest holiday cottages we have stayed in, everything and more is provided (bathrobes, slippers, plenty of big towels, iron, hairdryer, picnic basket and even a smoothie maker).  The bed is to die for and we fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow.  Ideally located for touring North Wales and we had some fabulous day trips.

Review by Marion and Paul April 2019 (guest book)

FANTASTIC LODGE, FANTASTIC OWNERS Charlotte and Carl.  Everything PERFECT.  Best property we've ever stayed in in 27 years.  We will be coming back a lot of times.

Review by Mr Acraman February 2019 (Google)

We recently had a very enjoyable short break at the Lodge. It is in a beautiful scenic location near to the village of Dyserth, a great base from which to explore North Wales. The Lodge itself is very tastefully decorated and so well equipped both inside and out, a home from home. The bathroom has a separate bath and shower, good quality toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. The kitchen comes well equipped with all the usual stuff, a washing machine and a tumble drier. The owner has thought of everything and more! Next time we'll be booking for a week and we're looking forward to a day off here and there in between sightseeing just chilling out in the beautiful surroundings and recharging our batteries for the next day.

Review by Mrs Illsley January 2019  (Google and guest book)

The quality of the whole lodge is amazing with lots of thoughtful touches to make for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The furnishings and appearance are what you would expect from a high quality hotel but with a homely feel. It is set in a peaceful location with beautiful surrounding countryside to walk or if you want to travel easy access to the local beaches or mountains.

Review by Melissa, January 2019 (Google)

My husband and I have just stayed at The Lodge. Wonderful countryside location, very private with great walks right from the front door. The accommodation has everything you could possibly need or even think of needing and we especially loved the bathrobes and slippers.

It was very useful having a separate washing machine and dryer, so getting our walking clothes washed and dried quickly enabled us to extend our stay. The lighting in the bedroom creates a very romantic and magical atmosphere and the whole cottage has been beautifully thought-out and decorated. I look forward to returning later in the year and we highly recommend a stay here
